So Athymia played a show last saturday at St. Alban's hall .... and I have to say it was one of the best shows ever hahah. It was the first time that I got to see The Bloodletting play and they really impressed me...can't wait for their next set :). We played right after them and not to brag but we had an awesome set! Everything felt really good, songs were tight and the sound was good. Everyone seemed to get really into it! After 3 more (usual) bands Fuck the Facts took the stage .... GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!!! They are sooooo good. I remember the last time they were hear in GB and the sound was all fucked up and the PA wasn't working....this time was much,much,much better. They kicked my ass all over the place to say the least....so tight and heavy....my god that girl can scream. The entire crowd was losing there minds hahaha, it was great fun. I'm glad I picked up about $70 in merch and got a Vinyl copy of there new cd which is worth every penny....got them to sign it as well!! ;)

We (Athymia) have another show coming up on April 21st @ The Upstairs. It's the Terratomb benefit show.. for anyone who doesn't know, their jam space had burnt to the ground along with all their gear so we are trying to raise some money for them to get back on their feet ;). Just a quick update over the past little bit. They 10 X 12 show was insane! There were a tonne of people and everyone seemed to be really getting into the music which was awesome. One of our better sets for sure.

Dave got home last week and it's great seeing him again even though he said he's having trouble with his wrists and may have to have an operation on them soon :S ... but he's pretty calm about it and I'm sure things will be fine ... just can't wait to tear up the stage with him again this wednesday night!! We are playing with Comeback Kid, This is Hell, I Hate Sally, Drowning Shakespeare and Ricochet... should be an emo filled fun night! :P I listened to all of the away bands and they are ok I guess .... really not my thing and they all kind of sounds they same, but I'm sure it'll be a good show none the less.

....and today we (Athymia) finally got to jam for the first time in months. It was great..just went over some tunes with Dave and kind of threw some new idea's out there for new songs to come. They are getting faster and heavier so watch out! :P

He had slept for far too long!

In his chamberroom the sun never shone and the thick brass doors had turned a bright green with time. Most people believed him lost- a legend, a myth and that's what he had become. His heart barely beat and not a breath came from his lips but he still lived- lived, by will alone it would seem.

In his youth he had railed against all that was wrong in his land; he had given courage to the downtrodden; lifted the spirits of the crushed and vanquished the un-pure and ridden upon the shoulders of the free men in glorious triumph up the steps of power into the temple of sound where he kissed the tomb of the metal god for the first time.

All was good in his land; the crops grew tall, the men grew rich and the women were happy because the smiles never left there children's faces and He himself was happy. the once terrible rage that never left his belly had subsided and his step was light for the first time in his life... all seemed well.

he was a small man in spirit; envious and riddled by greed; he hated The Man for just being a man- he wanted everything He had but knew in his dark heart that he could never posess any of it. One night in the winter he waited along a well worn walking path for the shadow of The Man to come close clutching a dagger dipped in drudgery. With every footstep his deark heart beat stronger and when The Man was close he leapt from the shadows and struck a blow to The Man's chest; with a great gasp of air He pulled the dagger from his chest and a red plume of blood scraped the moon.

In the morning He was found by his henchmen who knowing he had not returned frm his evening walk feared for the worst; He lay in the path where He had fallen; his once warm blood turned to red ice and his jolly face fallen an ashen grey hurridly they put him upon there shoulders and carried him to the old womans cottage.

She looked at him with her grey eyes and lay her head upon his chest.

"He lives...but his soul has been stolen; it will take a long time for it to return" she mumbled and looked away!

"How long Old Woman- How Long? We Must know..." One of his men shouted!

She went to a box by the fireplace and pulled out a goats fur sack and reaching inside of it she took out a handfull of powder and blew it into the air, the powder settled on The Man's face. Her grey eyes surveyed The Man's features and then without warning she was seized bythe shakes and a voice not her own crept from her throat:

"He will sleep for ten years until a group of twelve bands of good soul reclaim the temple of power and kiss the metal god. Until then; this land is under the hand of doom and you all must leave- no crops will grow here again, all your riches will disappear and your children will die of a disease which will blacken their skins and turn their bones brittle; light all the fields afire and never return unti he awakes"

She then collapsed and died.

With that the free men took The Man to his chamber and layed him upon his bed; the fields were alit and the bells rang one last time.

He waits for you to kiss the Metal God!

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in a little bit but not too too much going on...just the usual. Work, work and a little more work. I was informed the other day though that I'm getting a new shift starting in about a weeks time. It's a bit earlier and it's Mon-Fri so that's exciting!

Last weekend when we had our big snow storm I had got up kinda of later in the afternoon not expecting to do much that day just due to the storm...but I kind of just decided to hit the road and try and catch the bus out to lori's..lol it was quite the little adventure. The weather didn't seem that bad around my house but I went to the video store and picked up The Benchwarmer's which by the way is fucking hilarious..and I started trekking up Charlotte st which wasn't fun. Finally made it to the bus stop were there were only 2 ppl waiting with me in the little hut. The bus finally came and while we were on the way out we had to stop like 4 times to clear the windows it was that bad. Just when we were coming into reserve they called off all other runs that night and were not going to go to dominion but the driver did just for me...it was quite nerve wracking but everything was fine in the end. Got to lori's and had to fully change clothes hahaha. Twas a good night ;)

.....AND! just today myself, Jason, Matt and Mattay took a run up to Musicstop where I got my new guitar! hehe exciting..it feels and looks great. Canova got it all strung up for me haha so I can't wait to play some shows with it! :P

Hey everyone,

Just a quick note to say Merry Christmas and for everybody to have a save and Happy New Year!

So just a little update for the past week. It has been a doozie. lol In a good way :P

I'm not saying too much but things are going really well with Lori, we hung out for about 4 days this week alone after not really seeing each other for a month or more. It was just really nice to do everything again, went for walks ,hung out at each others house's and watched funny movies :P and ate lots of food :P. Even skipped a day of work to go see her! We talked alot of things through and everything seems to be fine :)


Other than that it was work as per usual...ush lol, but it does = $$$ and I need for Christmas present in which I got over half my shopping done this week alone!

Just kind of a quick post,

Last night I was working until about 10:30 or so and on the way home I met Lori at Steelcity were her whole education class (pretty much) were loaded/dancing and singing away hahaha. I met a few people there and it was a fun time, we didn't stay for too long because they had been there for almost 3 and a half hours before I got there! haha but we just went for a walk and that was nice :)

I'm feeling alot better on things that have gone on over the past week. Sat down and talked alot of things out and everything is going to be great :). I couldn't be happier.

Light is there in plain view, now to proof on how content I am... the needle receading out of me and my sanity coming together in hopes everything will be fine.

So yesterday I get a call from Planetta saying that a few people were going bowling last night. I haven't bowled in forever! haha. It ended up being Myself, Timmy, Kris, Amy (Towelhead), Joe, Amanda, Amanda's Mom (insert name :P), their little nephew Christopher and the baby Natahlie :). It was really fun, we got to play for abotu 2 hours and I won everytime!!... that's right.
After that we just went back to Joe's place and hung out, played some XBox. haha we played this game called Flatout ... I wasn't sure of what to make of it but you basically drive your car down a ramp...smash into something and send the driver flying out through the windsheild and try to hit targets hahaha. Good fun ;)

It was really good to see Kris and Tim Tim again, we'll have to hang out soon again :)

Hey Hey,

So tonight was my 2nd... that's right 2nd time seeing Borat the movie.... sssooooooo good hahha. The first time was ok but we had to sit way up the front so it really wasn't enjoyable. This time though myself, Lori, Jason and Matty went and it was awesome. If any of you out there haven't seen it..do it now!!! Best movie of 2006 by far :P. It was also really good to see Lori again, hopefully we'll get to hang out some more soon enough :).

Pretty self explanitory... My room is literally in a basement of an older house. It's really nice and I have ti all done up but everything is rock and concrete. Anyways I awoke this morning to find myself walking through like 2 inches of water...aparently our hot water pumps valve blew during the night and just let loose water for like 8 hours until I woke up lol... thank fuck nothing was damaged or broke...LOL I have this little wall made out of cement blocking off my room from the rest of the basement cause a bit of water came in before.. it held up pretty good and did it's job.... but the Mongolians were too strong....this time ;).

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I hate you Steel City ..... well not really , but we all headed out to the Steel to catch UFC 65 which had our favorite fighter Georges St. Pierre (Montreal) fighting for the welterweight championship. We have been going there for a while to watch them cause it's free..but the one time that our favorite fighter is going for gold they can't get the fucking satelitte to work!!!! AAAAAAHHHH GJDHKLJLKFLHBBBBLAAHHH *insert screaming and spitting noises :P.

Anyways I had my buddy Sinclair who was in Halifax at the time text messaging me on my phone with updates as they happened hahaha. Turned out that GSP did win the title!!!! So it's all good, I just have to finish downloading it to actually watch :P.

This weekend was one of best I have had in a long time. I started with having thursday off on a vacation day, didn't really do to much besides jam with Dave on a new tune that we played over the weekend. Other than that it was a regular day :P. Friday was great, I usually get pretty nervous before a show but it actually didn't really hit me until we were playing lol, we played at The Maple Leaf with Terratomb and War Ensemble and it was incredible. It was the first time I saw them live and I hope it's not the last. Hopefully we will be able to share the stage again soon. But I actually got to see a few people that I haven't in a while so that was really nice as well.

Saturday night seemed like it was just going to be an okay night. We were kinda frustrated that we were not able to play with Terratomb again at the all ages show but Zac had actually added us onto an all ages show in the pier which turned out to be alot better then what I was expecting. 2 awesome bands, The Orchids Curse and Chara came down to rock out, they blew me away as well, they were insanely heavy and put on a great show. It's awesome that some more heavy bands are starting to come back down to Sydney. Now while we were at the show one of our friends asked Canova if it would be alright for the bands to park there fans and come hang out with us at The Pad, which it was. These guys (esp Orchids Curse) were really a great group of guys, as soon as they got there, we ALL (like 25 ppl) went up to and piled in Italian Village, hahaha I think the waitress was pissed hahah oh well it's good for their business :P. We were there for quite a while but we had fun. After that it was back down to the pad for some drinks and tunes. All the guys in the bands were realy cool, Josh from OC was really into our music along with the other guys and he even asked us to be on a couple of new compliations that he is releasing soon too :D. We were pretty much up until like 6 or 6:30 chattin about everything and I think we made a really good friend in Josh cause he will get us a show anytime we want in Halifax and hopefulyl we will be able to hook up a tour with them as well.

But overall it was the best couple shows for us in a while, alot of people coming up to us and saying they liked it so I guess that's a good sign :P. But all of our music is done and we just haev to send off a pic to Craig for the final touches on the album!! Keep checking back for updates :)

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ..... coming into this week is my 2nd full week of being completely sick and miserable. I was off work all last week and am supposed to go back tomorrow but I'm not sure if I'm feeling up to it just yet. Going there is ok but there are so many more people around and dance music and all that shit playing at the same time so it's kinda hard to concentrate on, but at the same time we don't have to pay for it so :P. So it kind of equals out.

I can't comprehend that these guys are actually on an Indie label... it's sounds like a baby being strangled by a cat... and the vocals sound like the baby trying to sing while being strangled....

I'm not saying this to be an asshole or anything.. or say that anyone else in particular is better (even though anything is) but seriously... they played gobblefest here in sydney on sunday.. and my god... sound was absolutely fucking terrible. It has been quite some time since my last post ... alot of the same has been going on , you nkow work,work, and a little more work. I actually had the past couple days off and I only work 2 days this week before another nice little break. This weekend is going to be great! Weds and thursday off , golfing for probably the last time this year with my dad on friday, then a nice big BBQ saturday and to top it all off Gobblefest 13 on sunday! Come out to the steelworker's hall for an alllllll day show from 1pm to 11pm feat Athymia playing @ 7:20pm.

Also I know I have put a few posts on our (Athymia's) cd, and we are sooo close to finishing it now. The mastered tracks have come back to us and they sound better than anything we could have hoped for! We are now just waiting on the artwork which we should have by the end of this week if not early next week. Then it's off to be made... hit me up on msn if you would like a little taste ;)
